IT’S TIME TO DO THE STINGRAY SHUFFLE

You’ve probably noticed our stingray warning signs posted around the beach club. Please be advised that we have had 15 stingray stings this summer season to date. It’s a good idea to take extra caution when entering and exiting the water until the ocean temperature cools down. If you shuffle your feet, or take quick, small steps without lifting up your feet, you will scare away nearby stingrays.

If you or your child are stung, please let the beach club know immediately. We have a first aid kettle that heats up water quickly. We can soak the injured area in hot water, which helps break up the toxin and ease the pain.

So pay close attention as stingrays are more abundant when the water is warm – and don’t forget to do the stingray shuffle!
